Today is all about sharing some tips for embossing folders that will help you have success + SIP cards that are super cute!  Now, today’s tips for embossing folders is focused specifically on the 3D folders. One of my HAPPY PLACES is the ocean, and this stamp set just puts a smile on my face!  I love that it has some great all occasion greetings and you can make some quick and easy cards.  It’s also perfect for SIP CARDS–stamps, ink and paper!

All You Need is a SIP

One of my favorite ways to teach people to stamp is using the SIP METHOD:  stamps, ink & paper!  That is all you truly need to make cards.  Don’t get overwhelmed thinking you need “everything” and that cards are going to take you “forever” to make!  Start SIMPLE–with just a SIP!

And then, it’s super easy to just step it up a bit.  Add a little more Cardstock, maybe a punch, some ribbon….  Make sure to watch today’s video where I show you a SIP CARD plus how to STEP IT UP.

If you like today’s projects, make sure to PIN them to your PINTEREST so that you can refer back to them!

Tips for Embossing Folders & Using those 3D Folders

Today’s video is filled with tips for embossing folders of the 3D variety.  These are NEW in the catalog, and replace the DYNAMIC embossing folders we used to carry.  You have to make your embossing “sandwich” a little different!

Tips for Embossing Folders (the 3D Folders that is) You Need to Know

In the video I talked about using a “shim.”  I have been able to shim mine using the Craft Silicone Mat.  The easiest, and most reliable method is the new 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER PLATE.  When you use this with the Big Shot, you start with the Platform, then the 3D Embossing Folder (w/cardstock inside) and then this plate on top.  It replaces the clear cutting plate.

    • Thanks for that question Patricia! No, the blender pens are not made to be refillable; that’s why there are 3 of them in the pack.

  1. Thank you Jackie for your video. I thought I would have to buy the new blue shim for embossing, but I do have the old platform with the tabs, so I will be able to use that. Thanks for letting me know that. I love your cards with the Seaside Notion set. Beautiful!

  2. Jackie, what great cards! I really like the beach scenes! Thanks so much for enlightening me about the embossing folder changes using the big shot. I really like using the embossing folders for that little extra bling to my card. (I am a Michigan native, living in Arizona and no one here has mentioned that change to me.) Enjoying your emails immensely. Irene Blakely

  4. Jackie – thank you for the tip regarding how to use the plates for the thicker embossing folders. I have the original “book style” plate and your tip really helped. I did make me a cardstock shimmy, but will definitely give your tips a try. Thank you again and thanks for all the tips you give in each of your videos. I love to learn.
