Scrapbooking Sketches For Easy Page Layouts

Whether you’re a seasoned scrapbooker or just getting started, having a simple layout to follow makes creating pages easier — and a lot more enjoyable. Scrapbooking doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming. With a basic sketch as your guide, you can focus on the fun part: telling your story with stamps, ink, paper and photos.

Today I’m sharing several scrapbook pages created using simple sketches and layout designs. These sketches are designed to be flexible and work with any stamps, ink, and patterned paper, making them perfect for using what you already have. A sketch gives you a starting point for photo placement, layers, and embellishments — while still allowing plenty of room to make the design your own.

What Are Scrapbooking Sketches?

Scrapbooking sketches are simple page layout designs that provide a guide for placing photos, papers, and embellishments. Think of them as a roadmap for your page — they take the guesswork out of design and help you get pages completed more quickly.

When you follow a sketch, you’re not copying someone else’s page exactly. Instead, you’re using the layout as inspiration while choosing your own stamps, ink colors, patterned paper, and embellishments. This approach is especially helpful if you ever feel stuck staring at a pile of supplies, unsure where to start.

With just stamps, ink, and paper, a sketch makes it easy to create scrapbook pages that highlight everyday moments, special trips, family memories, and all the little stories in between.

Below you’ll see several scrapbook pages created using simple sketches and layout designs. Each example shows how the same basic layout can look completely different depending on the stamps, ink colors, patterned paper, and theme you choose.

This is one of the reasons I love working with sketches — they’re versatile, repeatable, and perfect for building confidence. Once you find a layout you like, you can use it again and again with different photos and supplies.
